In Houdini i developed a custom multi-resolution water surface for the short movie "Seed" made at Aixsponza. My aim was to mix calm areas with windy areas next to each other. This was something i was always missing in CG Water Surface Simulations before. Done with Houdini 14, aka pre-Houdini 16, where it is now fantastically implemented with tons of features added on top (as usual by the great SideFX guys).
